The original series ran for three seasons on ABC from January 1959 to July 1961.Produced a year before Twilight Zone, this series sparked the growing interest in paranormal suspense in the late 1950’s. The primary difference between the two shows was the effort One Step Beyond made to discover and present "real" stories of supernatural events and recreate them for each episode – all said to be based on true events.
